I am multimedia artist that creates work based on an emotional stimulus. This is achieved, either by confronting personal anxieties and depression or a subject matter that elicit a strong emotional response. My most recent work was based on plastic pollution in the ocean, the piece was an installation filled with marine life sculptures made from plastic waste; alongside this was a video and sound piece. Starting off as an abstract painter, I transitioned into video and projection, to me this seemed like the most logical step to create work with a strong emotional connection. Inspired by artists such as Claudia Robles, who creates audio-visual work; 'Skins’ was the most valuable in helping me understand that using audio and images would immerse the viewer into my work, thus automatically creating a connection. While experimenting with this new material I discovered that the way the audience interacts with my piece was important to me. This lead to me exploring installation art, which in recent works I have combined with video and sound.
